The Bucephalus facepiece is constructed from gold wire, cream tulle, and sheer tulle ribbons. The structural foundation of the piece consists of three thicker wires twisted together to form a central spine, precisely shaped by hand to follow the natural anatomical contours and outline of the face, tracing the forehead, nose, lips, and chin. Fine gold wire is hand-twisted around this primary core. Branching outward from the central axis, delicate wing-like wire loops are formed, each filled with hand-sewn cream tulle. The free ends of these wire wings are wrapped around the main skeleton, remaining fully kinetic and adjustable: they can be shifted, rotated, or repositioned by the wearer to alter the distances between them and customize the spatial volume over the face. The structure is secured above through a sheer tulle ribbon tied around the head, while a matching ribbon at the base fastens around the neck for stability. This piece is 1/1 and handmade in our studio in Athens.
