The Naré mini skirt is constructed from embroidered Chinese sous-plats, otherwise designed to be passive receptors of food and comfort. Originally crafted for domestic contemplation, these domestic textiles are thrust into visibility through minimal tactile manipulation. To transition the material from two-dimensional flatwork into a three-dimensional form that contours the hips, a precise dart was sewn into each sous-plat. Silver eyelets encase the loose threads that would otherwise deteriorate through domestic use. This containment enables dynamic adaptability, as the side satin lacing allows the piece to adjust to various sizes. This piece is 1/1 and handmade in our studio in Athens.
